 Today was a big day as we had to assess our contribution to our local community. After assessing our sales, a total of £100 is divided amongst five charities with the hope to make a little difference towards their projects.  For ADRA UK , one scarf means, to ensure that families both in the UK and overseas who are facing challenges because of  disease, violence and hunger are helped . Also at Tenovus vital income has dropped due to the closure of the charity shops and they need to continue their work in providing cancer care.  For the amount of the price of a scarf , we can provide a face-to -face advice session at Shelter Cymru and help a family to keep their home, joining the fight against homelessness in Wales.  At Noah’s Ark , a scarf , can provide a pack of essentials for the parent of a child admitted in an emergency.  Lastly, at Save the Children, one scarf , pays for antibiotics to treat 40 children with pneumonia, making children happier and h...

 I aim to support women as much as possible and through my scarves I want to make a statement that we help the community in need .This is why my scarves have a social responsibility feature, of which I am proud.  This week for the International Women’s Day we are featuring the Lady Red scarf  supporting Tenovus  , Blue Pineapples for Save the Children and Purple Orchids helping ADRA UK.  This year, I pledge to support and empower women around me and in future collaborations.  Maya Angelou said: “Success is liking yourself , liking what you do, and liking how you do it .” Happy International Women’s Day !! On the 23rd of October I skipped the ordinary introduction and instead of presenting my eclectic art and scarves , I went on travelling around the Cardiff town to watch Lord of the Flies, a contemporary dance production under the direction of Matthew Bourne and Scott Ambler. Set design and costumes depicted contemporary school uniforms, and with a mystical touch the designers are reconstructing the deserted island between red, green and yellow lights,nevertheless using mist and a heavy use of metal display. The props on the stage had a multi purpose as the dancers will climb, jump and dance their ritual.  Every space available was used within the performance and the excellent choreography made the amateurs  young students to blend and achieve exceptional standards. The fluidity of the action projected the dance as soft and poetic,cutting out the violence of the acting which it is very well explained in the fantastic novel of William Golding. With one week to go till Christmas day, I hit the shops to get the last bits and bobs to finally finish the shopping I started almost 2 months ago! I am a self accepted big spender on fashion, but I have been saving my money to spend on all my loved ones for Christmas - so a little treat for myself at the end of this shop was acceptable. The black sparkly sequined cropped top is from NEWLOOK . The original price was £19.99 however, I got it for £9 in the sale! I probably didn't really need another cropped top to add to my collection, but I couldn't stop imaging all the things I could wear with it and all the places it could make an appearance. And for the price, it needed to be taken home with me! You can dress it up with a pencil skirt, or dress down with a pair of high waited jeans. Either way, it will add a razzle dazzle to your outfit.
