Purple Orchids

Here we are, on the very last day of 2013, a time of reflection and to form resolutions for another New Year.  This is one of the last series of 'what our PR Interns are wearing' for the 2013 season, featuring our 'Purple Orchids' scarf, specifically designed for t he Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) . Working in more than 120 countries, ADRA provides aid to  disaster relief, community farming, water resources, food aid in  mother-child health programs and women education and training.  This design features the  native African flower motifs and is specially created to provide education  for women in Rwanda.  Wherever you may be, all of us from Cup of Daisies would like to wish that you've had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead! Styling Blue Pineapples

This is another blog post on 'what the interns are wearing', and today I'm here to talk about 'Blue Pineapples' . This particular design is inspired by the Merlin Charity , who develops projects in Asia and Africa delivering medical expertise to countries shattered by war or suffering from natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods. The illustrations represent the national symbols of the countries where Merlin's work is currently being carried out. This is one of Cup of Daisies ' most favoured scarf and personally mine too. I think it's something to do with the striking contrast of the blue and white colours faintly representing an elegant china vase. I was going for an old style glamour look and wanted the scarf to be worn as a centre head piece.  With the head piece in mind, I worked my outfit around it and decided to pair the look with a two piece combo which I purchased recently from the H&M Trend collection for the season, a ...

Treats From Me, To Me A Week Before Christmas.

With one week to go till Christmas day, I hit the shops to get the last bits and bobs to finally finish the shopping I started almost 2 months ago! I am a self accepted big spender on fashion, but I have been saving my money to spend on all my loved ones for Christmas - so a little treat for myself at the end of this shop was acceptable. The black sparkly sequined cropped top is from NEWLOOK . The original price was £19.99 however, I got it for £9 in the sale! I probably didn't really need another cropped top to add to my collection, but I couldn't stop imaging all the things I could wear with it and all the places it could make an appearance. And for the price, it needed to be taken home with me! You can dress it up with a pencil skirt, or dress down with a pair of high waited jeans. Either way, it will add a razzle dazzle to your outfit. THE BOOTS!! RIVERISLAND £25 SALE - WOW, these boots are so fun, and 90's and I just want to be a Spice Girl when I wear them...

Wrapping up

Hello Fashionistas, I think it's official to say that the festive spirits are setting in now! With a week and a half left to Christmas, have you all done those last minute gift shopping yet? Inspired by Liberty London's gift wrapping ideas, we thought we'd show you some of our very own Cup of Daisies silk scarves version.  Be creative with gift wrapping this season and make it that much more special! Twirling among fall leaves

( CUP OF DAISIES LADY RED scarf , H&M Trend crop top, Topshop flared skirt, Zara studded heels, D&G quilted bag) One more week left before the autumn term breaks for Christmas holidays. I'm currently on the MA Arts Management course at RWCMD, Cardiff. One year full-time student, though this is year marks my 5th academic year in Cardiff. Can't believe how quickly time flies- already 3 months in as a masters student, while distant memories of the undergrad graduation over the summer can sometimes still feel like yesterday.   December is always the month to reflect on the passing year, and the one ahead. Personally, I love the excitement of what the future will hold. Joan x photos courtesy of Mark Tan

'Between Bowties & Lady Butterflies'

Outfit details of the week: H&M Trend floral crop top purchased from my latest London trip two weeks ago.  Absolutely adore the print on this particular top, the combination of colours are striking yet brings together a blend of sophistication. What makes it super on trend is that it's made out of the scuba material which is super big this season, and if you haven't' noticed, the cropped length has absolutely taken over the runways! What's not to like.  Paired it with my lovely Topshop white thick cotton flared skirt for a clean crisp look. Love the contrast between the prints and clean crisp skirt.  White is the season's new black. These red hot studded kitten heels from Zara have been a good bargain from last season's sale and I've never regretted getting them.  To top it off, I've styled it with one of our very own CUP OF DAISIES scarves, and I knew instantly it had to be the Lady Red scarf. Fun fact: This particular...
