Bandanas are in vogue!

The 90’s are back! The looks  popularised by Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera are back on the catwalks. The “sudden craze” around bandanas and scarves is revived .  Just fold it into a triangle with the V shape facing down, place it at the forehead and tie it underneath your hair . This accessory is a “must” as is racing through the ready to wear fashion and the markets.

The bohemian look worn below by Christina Aguilera with a cropped red T-shirt and low waisted denim trousers is a classic of the 90s. This trend now is taking us by surprise. The bandana can be worn with a denim jacket or even a suit. While, the divas preferred denim trousers with a top and high heels, the catwalks, especially Dior and Marc Jacobs are recreating new looks.

Marc Jacobs collection 2020 made an homage to the mods and Jackie Kennedy. The 1960s were revived through matching mini dresses with A line coats and tights in pastel colours. This time though, instead of the 1960s hats the looks are accessorised with matching head scarves.

Dior Fall 2020 presents the 1970s allure, tailored jackets presenting the “Le Bar” style , full of attitude and confidence in combat boots and fishnet tights  . The collection highlights depicts plaid coats, jumpsuits, denim jackets and bias cut checked outfits. The woman presented on the catwalk is not as relaxed but rather sharp and determined. She is a feminist ready for a march ! Within this atmosphere we are introduced to our loved accessories: bandanas. If, in the past I would have totally ignored the statement, now the message is bold and direct, you can match a bandana with almost everything. The catwalk spoke!

Art in Fashion I: J.W. Anderson LFW

'Art in Fashion' is the next big trend! Inspired by English painter Graham Sutherland, J.W. Anderson's latest "pretty ugly" collection at London Fashion Week (LFW) 2014 offered an artful distortion of construction over unconventional palette. British designer, J.W.Anderson has once again created a collection to challenge the audience's take on art within fashion. Photo: Isidore Montag "In plebeian terms, if "pretty ugly" were a thing, Anderson nailed it. Citing English modern painter Graham Sutherland as a reference point, Anderson appropriated the queasy colour palette of alien green, murky mustards, watery browns, moss and greys from Sutherland's paintings onto his collection. Anderson went further by employing "ugly" fabrics like corduroy, black satin and a two-toned seaweed woven mix as a personal challenge this time. Admittedly, some of these fabrics are among his most abhorred." It is the very juxtaposition ...

RED NOSE DAY and the Hindmarch bags xx

Oscar Wilde: Be yourself everyone else is already taken! At "Cup of Daisies", we try to mix a bit of eclectic fashion with the relationship between charities and social awareness! So, especially for Comic Relief, me, I come out to strike a pose for Shelter Cymru, ADRA UK, Noah's Ark Appeal, Tenovus and Merlin UK, because standing up for a social cause improves your society, and together we do better! My selected design from the Comic Relief campaign for March 2015 was designed by Anya Hindmarch...yes, the Hindmarch bags!                                                              I am wearing the Nosebot!      ...
