Guest Post: Panagiota Prokopi

We welcome our very first Guest Blog Post series of the season, Panagiota Prokopi, who's a fashion enthusiast and blogger from Cyprus. Read on to discover her distinct and individual sense of style.
"Hi everyone, I am Panagiota, a 24-year-old girl living in Cyprus. An all-day-dreamer and a life lover, my ultimate fashion do's are picking up pieces I like to mix and match. I'm also a self-declared collector of jewellery and all sorts of accessories from headpieces to rings and many more statement necklaces. For me, style means being able to use the same piece for a ton of different outfits and not being afraid to be different. I always love Anna Dello Russo's style, she is my all-time fashion icon. The few things I can't live without are- my lipsticks, my accessories and my Nikon SLR camera."

3 of the Hottest Accessory Trends for SS21

Just because lockdown restrictions are starting to ease doesn’t mean that you have to go out and buy a brand new outfit. Sure, you want to feel and look good at social events after a year of emotional turmoil. (We get it.) That said, sometimes all it takes is the right accessory to tap into current trends and take your style to the next level. Speaking of, here are 3 of the best accessory trends for Spring/Summer 2021 that would make the perfect addition to your existing wardrobe. Utilitarian Bags Firstly, it’s almost like the fashion industry has accounted for the fact that most of us haven’t needed a handbag in months. By introducing pretty-yet-practical options across the SS21 catwalks , they’re easing us back into the practice of carrying a bag. From Kenzo’s slouchy waist belt, to phone lanyards at Versace, to Dior’s straw grab-and-go versions, the focus is on the smaller, the better.  However, simplified, medium-size bags also did the rounds at Hermès and Prada for those who ...

Bandanas are in vogue!

The 90’s are back! The looks  popularised by Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera are back on the catwalks. The “sudden craze” around bandanas and scarves is revived .  Just fold it into a triangle with the V shape facing down, place it at the forehead and tie it underneath your hair . This accessory is a “must” as is racing through the ready to wear fashion and the markets.  Image : Courtesy of Vogue   The  bohemian look worn below by Christina Aguilera with a cropped red T-shirt and low waisted denim trousers is a classic of the 90s. This trend now is taking us by surprise. The bandana can be worn with a denim jacket or even a suit. While, the divas preferred denim trousers with a top and high heels, the catwalks, especially Dior and Marc Jacobs are recreating new looks.                                                       ...

Art in Fashion I: J.W. Anderson LFW

'Art in Fashion' is the next big trend! Inspired by English painter Graham Sutherland, J.W. Anderson's latest "pretty ugly" collection at London Fashion Week (LFW) 2014 offered an artful distortion of construction over unconventional palette. British designer, J.W.Anderson has once again created a collection to challenge the audience's take on art within fashion. Photo: Isidore Montag "In plebeian terms, if "pretty ugly" were a thing, Anderson nailed it. Citing English modern painter Graham Sutherland as a reference point, Anderson appropriated the queasy colour palette of alien green, murky mustards, watery browns, moss and greys from Sutherland's paintings onto his collection. Anderson went further by employing "ugly" fabrics like corduroy, black satin and a two-toned seaweed woven mix as a personal challenge this time. Admittedly, some of these fabrics are among his most abhorred." It is the very juxtaposition ...
